About half an hour ago, Chris Brogan hit me a message on Twitter, saying:
“@dykc - in a cab playing your show to your newest fan.”
I wrote Chris back asking him to thank the person for getting down with me and listening to my show — He took it another step further and on-the-spot, (in Vegas), put me on the cell with his cabbie, Mark Taylor.
Based on what Chris told me, as soon as he jumped in the cab, this brutha was dropping real world knowledge, passionately, and thought I would appreciate connecting with him. Chris’ assumption was right on time.
In the span of a few minutes, I was breaking down the ways that Mark can instantly produce his own content, express and share his thoughts (with infinite reach and little to no technology in hand). It was clear to me that he was excited and feeling the ideas as I bulleted specific talking points.
Before the conversation was over, I made a note of his full name and email address (and have already emailed him) — personally I am looking forward to more conversations with Mark Taylor (and you should too). His real world. Possibly from a cab. In Vegas.
TRUTH? Connecting with people online is aiight! (but real life is so much better).

I agree “real life” is so much better, but what is happening on line IS aiight, too!
Truth!
a fantabulous story…. a fantabulous event that illustrates the strong real relationshps cultivated in virtual world… facilitated by none other than two of the coolest guys in the semi-virtual space.
yeah, connections are key. that’s the thing that keeps the wheels turning both in my head and on my car….
Very cool. I love it.
clarence, this is so awesome! you should really have this guy and chris on the show. share this beautiful story with others and let them “experience” what the three of you just shared!
i’m waiting to hear this podcast! :)
p.
That is so awesome!
The thing I think is so great about this post is how it covered three different forms of communication:
1) You posted a podcast
2) Chris Brogan listened to it and liked it
3) Chris was talking with his cabbie f2f
4) Chris sent you an @ tweet
5) Chris called you on his mobile and you chatted with Mark
6) You emailed Mark
7) You blogged about it.
*That* is pimping your communication stream.
