DYKC?™ Up Close — 09.2007

September is a month that always signals change — leaves turning, cooler weather, shorter days, longer nights, and Back to School. Since my last monthly update, I have rebooted an old adventure (with a new flavor), contributed to an entertaining, encouraging, and uplifting production, and established a new routine that will have a lasting positive effect — not only on my life, but, others as well.

Church 2.0

This past month I started attending the Cambridge Vineyard Christian Fellowship after a 15 year-long break from worship. What has fascinated me the most is the evolution that Church has gone through in my time away. My recent Church 2.0 adventures have given me perspective regarding the rebooted state of church and the lasting impact it has on the nature of Sunday morning worship — it is definitely not the same experience I so easily dismissed in my youth!

21-day Elevator Fast

I have never fasted on anything. Consumed less, yes. Deprived myself of a convenience, no. Choosing a particular aspect of your life you are willing to live without is a challenging task. For 21 days, 2 or 3 times a day, I took the stairs to my office on the 7th floor. 14 flights. 170+ steps. Everyday. The transformation from effort to habit happened quickly and now I am spear-heading a human powered revolution! Watch this video on Facebook, where I break down the first three days of my elevator fast and reconsider taking the stairs the next time the bell for the elevator touches down on your floor.

Friday Favecast

Entertain. Encourage. Uplift. — it is the tag-line for the Friday Favecast and is produced by Fave Nitemare, recipient of the 2007 Black Weblog Award for Best Podcast. Anji Bee and I enjoyed being guests on the show last Friday and I recommend that you listen to it as soon as possible! There is only one way to start your weekend on a positive note and it should begin with the Friday Favecast.
