Rebranding TRUTH

I’ve been getting solid feedback from cats I consider friends regarding how I should play my position on elevating my self-brand. One side-effect to embracing the whole notion of self-branding is that you can quickly and easily be overwhelmed. All three of my web domains have negatively impacted my mentals since I’ve deviated from my intended portal design. Owning multiple domains has thrown a dark cloud of brand-overload over my web based hustle & flow. The implication is that breaking away from a portal type framework has stunted the functionality of my sites, effectively taking away the usefulness of my personal brands.

42minus71

Two years ago I was feeling clever and decided to craft a domain name that tagged my geographical location. Conceptually, I would use the domain as a base-camp for my editorial-like original flavor formations, and I started drafting verbiage in my unique colloquial style. Although my writing was infrequent, I felt solid about the fact that I was hitting people with reflections of the TRUTH about me. With this particular presence, I wanted to lay it on the reader, give them something to bite down on, chew, and then let it marinate. TRUTH? No one can be profound everyday. I didn’t get the impression that people were really feeling me and I started looking at other ways connect and draw them in.

UPDATE: 42minus71.org now redirects to DoYouKNOWClarence.com.

DYKC?

My writing was not hitting people upside the head the way I wanted (OR they were turned off by the way I conveyed the whole nature of my personal hustle & flow). My desire to be heard and a strong passion to connect with people outside my spheres led me to the whole notion of Do You Know Clarence? The whole scenario came together over veggie burgers with bacon, and I’ve used this podcast to tag-team with my writing. Currently, the registered domain doyouknowclarence.com houses none of the DYKC?™ content and is forwarded to 42minus71™.

Always Bet on Bahlactus

One significant part of my whole lifestyle involves Comics. I’ve been reading these joints all my life and I wanted to connect with some like-minded cats who shared my passion for this wildly artistic medium. I registered the domain bahlactus.com based on the fact that my style and spin on Comics would be unique enough to draw some clueful readers that I could get down with. Although I treat 42minus71™ and DYKC?™ as if they were brands, the reality of this whole scenario is that Always Bet on Bahlactus™ is my one true brand. TRUTH? The other two are just me.

With one solid brand in my pocket, and two natural representations of my self-brand, I’ve decided to consolidate.  Ever since I got down with the whole concept of social networking, self-branding, Web 2.0, and the idea of impacting others outside of my spheres, it’s necessary to wrap my whole hustle & flow with some type of portal.  Over time, Do You KNOW Clarence?™.com will move into the forefront as my portal and 42minus71™.org will be a part of it.

These two domains don’t constitute a brand so much as they are a reflection myself as a brand. I hope to leverage that flavor to promote an environment where cats will want to invest in me by connecting, interacting, and working with me to exact some sort of change.  I will continue to strengthen the Always Bet on Bahlactus™ brand as a solid, but separate endeavor. Given my mind-state, content will start to transform as DYKC?™ becomes the face and 42minus71™ continues as my platform for written editorial expression.

I’ve been told that content is king and if I stay true to the grind then eventually an audience could embrace me and I’d have that connect I’ve been fiendin’ for. I’ve spent a lot of wasted cycles doing this for all the wrong reasons — for you (but I’ve sparred with my mentals long enough). TRUTH?  My name is Clarence.  DYKC?™ and 42minus71™ is a reflection of who I am.  Always Bet on Bahlactus™ is what I do.
