I want to hear about tater-tot cassarole!
I love cooking and am always on the lookout for good/easy recipies ;-)
Gah! I totally commented on the wrong entry. This is what happens when I’m out too late at night ;-)
I had a broken foot about 3 years ago. Bad break, full on cast, crutches, the whole thing, in the dead of a super snowy winter. It was awful. For 6 weeks I was pretty much house bound, except for going to work. Thankfully I had a good friend who drove me there, or that would have been an even bigger nightmare.
It’s horrible when your routine gets messed up, and even more horrible to feel “broken”. I do have to say though, not being able to walk for a few weeks, gave me a better perspective on what it must be like for people who are permanently disabled.
Maybe they can bring bacon to you? :-)
Elise, It’s true that perspective becomes clear when you’re laid up. My mentals have been on pretty much nothing else except the fact that I can’t get down with what I need to do.
I’m glad someone mentioned the tator-tot casserole! I’ll be sure to slide that science to you soon!
Do you know how tight it would be if someone could deliver Apple Smoked bacon?
You could try to have Apple Smoked Bacon delivered to you by that Stop & Shop Peapod grocery home delivery service.
I can empathize with you. I’m homebound most days due to extreme fatigue from my toxic liver treatments. I need help from friends now & then to get food delivered, shoveled out, etc… It sucks having to depend on help. I swig down 2 liters of Diet Coke with Lime on Saturdays just to have enough energy to drive myself the 100 miles in and out of the city. It’s well worth the effort to get out and socialize with friends. Best therapy in the world.
Take care of yourself man.
Too bad http://www.kozmo.com isn’t in business. They promised to deliver ANYTHING you wanted within an hour to the door. This includes - a pack of gum, a snickers bar, an album, or a table light. No minimum order amounts!
You could call them and say you wanted apples smoked bacon between 8 and 9 am and they’d have it there! AND, you weren’t supposed to tip the deliverer.
Hmm… I wonder why they went out of business?
We used to get down pretty heavily with Kozmo back in ‘99, 2000. They were pretty successful here in Boston, but, in other places they weren’t getting the numbers, so it was a wrap. Unfortunate. Used to be a winner with Planet Wifey when I was pullin’ long hours at AKAM and would have ice-cream delivered with a movie. Digital romancin’.
I miss Kozmo so much! Not only did they bring me many movies and pints of Ben and Jerry’s from Clarence, but they got me through the worst cold/flu ever with Fresh Samanthas and cold medicine. They also once brought me a book, Snow Falling on Cedars. Just last week I was lamenting the loss of Kozmo, not wanting to make a snowy, wet trip to Best Buy to pick up a new movie. I think we should start a “Bring back Kozmo” campaign!
Hey Clarence!
There’s a meme going around the blogsphere. It’s the 7 songs meme. Post 7 songs you like and tag others to do the same. I’m tagging you. I want to see what you’re listening to.
You can check out my answers and link to some other folks who have also done the meme at my blog: http://charlotteann.wordpress.com
Look forward to seeing your answers. :)
Later,
Char
Without a doubt Clarence, pretty much like you, I would feel out of sorts if I didn’t get my swoll on man! I can’t tell you what a relief that can be when I work out all of the angst and built up frustration from the day’s work and able to release it ala Human Torch like a detonated SuperNova. Or maybe a Peter Petrelli, but that has consequences. Now, if I can’t make it to the gym, a good ol’ session of meditation does the trick just fine. Hope that ankle gets better my friend. Until lata…
